The Clackamas County Historical Society's museum and library collections serve three primary purposes. They preserve significant historical materials, support educational programs, and serve as a resource for scholarly and lay researchers.
Have you considered donating a favorite historical item to the Society? If you have but didn't know where to start, here is how it works. A member of the collections staff will meet you to examine the item and collect whatever information you can provide. The staff member then evaluates the piece in relation to other CCHS collections. Does it duplicate something we already have? What condidtion is it in? Can we care for it properly?
If the item would complement the Society's collections, staff members forward it to the Board of Directors. If the Board recommends that we accept the item, both parties sign a Deed of Gift and the item is accessioned and catalogued.
To initiate the process, call us at 503 655-5574. Sorry, we do not provide monetary appraisals.
